From coffee beans in Guatemala to hot peppers in Ghana, agriculture is a cornerstone for subsistence and income-generation for SHGO partner communities. Agriculture is more than harvesting rice or selling bananas; to support agriculture is also to increase food security, grow economic development, and uplift communities from hunger and poverty. By working with global partners to develop strong agricultural systems with respect to the local context and natural environment, SHGO promotes self-sufficiency and a synergy with the natural world.

Current Agricultural Initiatives:

  1. Community Farming (HOCAP, Ghana)
  2. Barley Farm for Education (The Beverly School, Kenya)
  3. Food Security and Organic Farming (ASODILL, Guatemala) - $5000
  4. Agriculture for Education (Zion Ministries, Sierra Leone) - $3000
  5. Vocational Training and Agricultural Development (Operation Restoration, Jamaica)
